ECCC 2018 Trip Home

I woke up and packed a bit. This was my first chance to sleep in. After some reading, I got a message from Adam that the pass was open. I was going to time things so I could have the safest time over the Snoqualmie Pass. It's a difficult place, and has blocked my way before.

I packed a bit better, and even showered. Everything was ready when Adam walked in. I thought he had left to work. It turned out he left from work. The pass was open, and I had a chance.

Paco made sure to say goodbye, and even followed me to my car as I put in the last suitcase. I actually had to escort him back to the house before leaving.

Traffic was surprisingly simple, and even the toll bridge was quick. This has become a routine for me. I told myself stories and thought about visiting Seattle one last time.

As I drove, I saw the exit to my favorite arcade. There was a McDonald's nearby, and I was very hungry now. I ordered off the auto teller just for the experience. It gave info on the calories from each meal along with cost and added options. I got a double quarter pounder meal. A worker gave me my cup as I ordered. The food was delivered to where I sat.

It was delicious. They changed the recipe a bit for a fuller and juicier taste.

Along with that was Uber eats, and a McDonald's app for preordering food. The Uber would pick up the food, and deliver it to you. The entire fast food industry is changing to the times quickly.

I went to the arcade, and enjoyed some games. That will be for the games played section, but the arrangement had changed a bit. The modern candy cabs had moved to a forgotten corner, while the music and rhythm games replaced them. There was a lot of new stuff and I thoroughly enjoyed my time.

Then I went to my favorite GameStop. Its on the same road as the mall, and is connected to a Barnes and Noble. It was a lot of fun. I played some VR games, and checked out books.

When I saw the 405, I decided to head back to the 5 as quickly as I could. This led to every turn I took taking me south down the 405. I actually passed the arcade twice before it was all done.

I made the right choice though. I saw so much, and traffic was light. We kept moving to the city, I nearly went in. Something stopped me. I happily realized the places I wanted to see were closed that day.

The drive over the pass was simple. My cruise control worked, and I had clear roads. There was a wet spot, and one place I wanted to pull over to take a picture from. Otherwise simple.

I happily filled up and ate at Ellensburg. I tried orange coke, and found I liked it. The burger was good, but the staff was small. The bathroom was out of soap, and other small problems happened. This is just part of running a place, there are times when things run out. No Dr Pepper or ketchup for example.

During the trip back, the cruise control turned off. It continued this way as I drove to Spokane. Then about the time I hit the town my CC had turnes off on the trip to Seattle, I could use it again. My only guess is radiation.

I listened to the radio, and found out the tri cities has fiber optic internet.

The dog demanded I take her out several times after I got home. She never left my side in fact. My parents were well, and for the first time in about a week I had my third meal of the day.

The trip was finished, and I was home.
